Consider volunteering for Super Troopers, our therapeutic equine care and adaptive riding programs, for children and adults with special needs. All classes are taught by PATH International certified instructors and assisted by trained volunteers.
We welcome anyone over the age of 14 who is interested in volunteering. Volunteers go through an orientation and training session to learn how to work with our participants and horses in various roles. Whether your volunteer interests lean towards working with participants with special needs, or spending some quality time working with horses — we are excited for you to join our team! You may just find that working with our Super Troopers and our equine herd is just what you’ve been looking for!
Our volunteers choose their time and days to volunteer. Classes run for 30 to 60 minutes. Volunteers assist in adaptive riding where they sidewalk or lead a horse for the lesson. They also volunteer for equine care classes where they work one on one with a student and help with class activities, keeping students safe while in the barn. Classes are held on Sunday morning, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Please feel free to take a look at our Super Troopers Volunteer Handbook to learn more about volunteering for our program.
We look forward to hearing from you!
